Visa Process in Germany

The Path to Success

Study Globe provides full support for preparing visa documents as well as interview training for the German Embassy visa process. We offer 15 days of visa training conducted by a professional trainer, covering do’s and don’ts for the visa interview. Additionally, we provide a sheet of approximately 40 questions to help students prepare.

The student visa process can take up to four months. Initially, the visa is granted for three to six months and will be extended by the Foreigner’s Registration Office (Ausländerbehörde) for one year at a time, until the completion of studies.

Passport Requirements

The Visa Section of the German Consulate can issue visas only to applicants holding a valid passport that meets the following criteria:

• Issued (not extended) in the last 10 years
• Contains at least 2 blank pages
• Has a minimum validity of 12 months beyond return from the Schengen territory
• Does not contain illegible data

Proof of Financial Means

Applicants must prove they can finance their studies in Germany by submitting the following:

• Confirmation of scholarship or stipend, if applicable
• A blocked account with a minimum balance of EUR 10,356, allowing a monthly withdrawal of EUR 863
• Proof of paid study fees, if applicable, or assurance that the required amount will be available in due time
